Innovations in transplantation have led to remarkable improvements in clinical outcomes, though long-term outcomes have remained challenging, indicating the need for continued research. One of the key difficulties in studying transplantation is that transplant dysfunction develops over long periods of time. This study will collect samples and information over time to be able to perform unique research aimed at understanding the development and progression of transplant rejection.

Potential study participants: Any adult or pediatric patient undergoing heart, lung, kidney, and/or liver transplantation at UCSD or Rady Children's Hospital, or any organ donor.

Study requirements: Participation in this study involves providing blood and potentially other samples (ie. urine) at your regularly scheduled visits with your transplant physicians.

Study duration: Organ donors will have a 1-time participation. Transplant patients will be asked to participate for the duration of their care at UCSD as long as they are willing to participate.
