Mariko Horii Lab

Research Focus

Our lab focuses on understanding the placenta affected pregnancy complications. We use pluripotent stem cells to model the placenta in disease and study the pathophysiology of pregnancy complications at the molecular and cellular level. We are currently studying a variety of diseases such as preeclampsia, complete hydatidiform mole, and Trisomy 21.
