Module-Based Learning
While we strive to provide in-person and hands-on training in all areas of Pathology, we also recognize that supplement educational resources can best prepare our trainees for the Boards. We provide access to two module-based certifications offered by the American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP) and require completion prior to graduation:
Lab Management University (LMU)
The LMU Program is a certificate program focusing on the five competencies of lab management:
- Personnel Management
- Financial Management
- Operations
- Informatics
- Compliance
University of Pathology Informatics
The UPI Certificate Program consists of 20 custom courses: 12 core and 8 elective courses are required to earn the certificate. This is a case-based program, where you act as the project leader developing a pathology informatics needs assessment for a laboratory. It focuses on four essential laboratory informatics competencies:
- Information Fundamentals
- Information Systems
- Workflow & Processes
- Governance Management
